When we need public health most, our leaders are waging war against it

At a moment when strong public health systems matter most, leadership has often undermined them instead. Eroding trust, cutting resources, and politicizing science weaken society’s ability to prevent and respond to disease. Strengthening public health requires more than rhetoric. It demands respect, investment, and policies rooted in evidence and equity.
