Tuberculosis is still killing people in the U.S., despite being preventable and treatable. Gaps in surveillance, underfunded public health systems, and a failure to address latent infection allow a centuries-old disease to persist, especially among the most vulnerable. Ending TB will require sustained investment, political will, and a long-term commitment to prevention, not panic-driven responses.
