As we settle into the “new normal,” focusing on just one pathogen isn’t enough. Influenza, RSV, and COVID may all cause severe disease, hospitalization, and death. A broader, more integrated public health approach is needed to monitor, prevent, and respond to the full spectrum of respiratory threats. Strengthening systems for all viruses improves overall community health and resilience.
