The next health crisis won’t wait for hospitals to catch up. Many U.S. hospitals are stretched thin and ill-prepared for sustained surges, leaving patients and communities vulnerable. Strengthening capacity and preparedness now is critical to face the “new normal” of recurring public health threats.
